And so this is Christmas...

There hasn't been that much going on lately, and that's a very good thing sometimes. So far Dante is still with us, and he seems to be getting around a lot better then he has been, so we're hopeful that he'll stick it out for a little while longer yet. The heat is going to be bad for him over summer, but we've got the fans on for him, and he's always got water around, so hopefully he won't be to bad.

As far as I know, holidays are coming up. Why "as far as I know" and not "definitely"? Well.. that's what happens when the boss discusses holidays with everyone except you. As far as I know everyone else has had it worked out, but I haven't heard anything on exactly when it is yet. Although I'm 99.999% sure of the dates, it still would be nice to have some confirmation so that I can figure out what I can and can't do. Then again, it's already to late for booking anything decent anyway.

The office Christmas "party" is on this week too. It's a dinner this time instead of the lunch that it was last year. Not sure of why that change was made, but I'm assuming that having the lunch last year wasn't much good for the bosses as it was a half day that everyone effectively had off. Well, in all fairness, I think it was only me and one of the other guys that didn't go back to the office afterwards, but at 3pm on the last Friday of work for the year it didn't seem like a good idea, especially considering I didn't have any more work to do. This year it's a strange time... It's Thursday night, and as far as I know it's a week before we actually finish. I think that it's this week because at least one person here is having the next week off, so I can forgive that. I'm still struggling to think of the reason for the Thursday night though. All I can think of is that it's a good excuse to have an early one and not spend to much on drinks.

I am not sure how I'll get around Thursday with all that on. I'm thinking that I'll get a lift into work if I can, and then get the train into town and see what buses go out that way. So far I think that'll be the best.
