Good health is such a wonderful thing...

I have been having a few ups and downs lately. The ups... well, there's Wilbur. He's our new kitten, and he's very cute. It's getting close to 5 months old now so he's getting to be a fair bit bigger then he was when we brought him home. He is a very good cat though, and he's even getting along well with the dogs. Not bad, a 2kg cat is able to live relatively easily in the house with a 65kg dog and a 75kg dog. Got to love integration like that.

The downs. This last week has been one of the worst. Thankfully I'm not letting it get me down as much as it probably should, but it's been a hard battle to not do that.

It started out with my trip to Sydney for work. It all went good and I got everything done. I worked a fair few extra hours down there, and had about 5 hours extra time just for the travelling time that I did to get there and back in the plane. I also paid for the taxi's to and from the airport there and meals and stuff because work would pay me back for that, as they legally have to. Well, that's what I thought anyway. They still do legally have to, but the boss seems to have forgotten to actually get the money to me. On top of that I also spent a bit over 7 hours on the Saturday that I got home working for another client after they begged to have me there, and I haven't been paid for that either, as I was told that I would be. The thing that really gives me the shits is that I didn't even get a "thank you" for anything. Not agreeing to go to Sydney, not for getting everything done, not for doing that Saturday work... nothing. And then to get screwed on the money? As soon as another job pokes it's head up, I'm out of this place. Everyone that knows me knows that I'm really easy to get along with. Right up until I get fucked over, and this is a prime example.

On top of that for the past week and a bit I've had ear problems. Turns out that it's not the was buildup that it normally is. This time it's the cold that I have had for a while ramping up and blocking my sinus's so much that my ears are also blocked up from a huge amount of backed-up fluid that can't drain out of them. It's common in kids, but not quite so much in adults from what I've read. So, I have to take this nasal spray that does almost nothing for 5-6 weeks to try and let it drain naturally, and if not then I can get referred to a E.N.T specialist who'll drain it out. That would be by the use of grommets I think... small plastic tubes that get stuck through your ear drum to release the crap on the other side. Great... Just what I want... A year of not being able to swim, or even wash my hair properly because of the problems with water getting into my ears. But, after waiting for another 5-6 weeks of this, then probably another 2-3 to see the specialist, and then probably another 2-10 to actually get something done... I'll be ready to do it. I'm damned close to that now. I can't hear well at all because of the pressure inside my ears, so everything is a dull murmor, apart from the tinny ringing that's constantly there over the top of it all.

And, on top of all that...

Last Tuesday the bank cancelled my credit card. Not because I did anything, but someone has gotten hold of the numbers and was booking train tickets in Italy using it. So, it got shut down. Normally not quite so bad, and it's good to see the bank checking up on these things. Bad part is that I had two orders in for stock that I needed to sell, and I pay for these on the credit card... my hosting account fees are due, and they are on the credit card... six domain names are due, and they are on the credit card... and that's just the ones I know about now. Hopefully I won't loose any of them out of this, but there's a possibility.

So things are just falling apart here. Nothing's been going right and it's all getting me down a lot. Next weekend had better be better then this. I'm sick of it all already.
